1919 - 1922
On October 1, 1919, founder F.G.J. Beerkens establishes the organization 'Fijnhouthandel Beerkens'. He focuses on importing tropical hardwood from Southeast Asia to the Netherlands. Thanks to the exclusive import rights for Cawitt-triplex, which was used to build all Fokker aircraft at the time, the company takes significant steps forward. Beerkens changes the name to 'Fijnhout en Triplex Import' (Fine Wood and Plywood Import), later abbreviated to Fetim.
1932-1960
In this year, Fetim leaves its location in Haarlem to settle in a city with more international opportunities: Amsterdam. Fetim also opens a second location in the south of the Netherlands, with a warehouse space of 15,000 m2 to meet the high demand for imported wood.
1973-1987
In the early 1970s, Fetim seizes the opportunity to become a wholesaler for many international DIY stores, in addition to wood imports. As one of the pioneers, Fetim introduces innovative laminate flooring to the market in the 1980s. Laminate quickly becomes popular and even the new standard in DIY flooring.
2001-2018
Fetim Group expands its presence in the global market by opening branches in China, Hong Kong, England, India, France, Belgium, and Germany. This global presence enhances the level of service and insight into the rapidly changing world market.
2020-2023
Fetim is and will remain relevant for the home improvement of today and the future. By constantly reinventing itself and pushing boundaries, it achieves the best possible results. With a renewed strategy, Fetim Group prepares itself for the demands and needs of people and society.
